Counterfeit Notes on the Northern Beaches

Heads up - one of my Tradie clients was paid $6000 in counterfeit notes by a residential customer. They found out when his partner went to deposit it at an ATM and then inside the bank. Apparently this is not unusual on the northern beaches and all over Sydney.

If you are caught using or even having counterfeit notes you are liable and can be charged. The note will not be replaced with the correct funds so you will be out of pocket.

So what do you do?

1. Handle the note as little as possible and store it in an envelope.

2. Note how it came into your possession

3. Report it to State or Federal police immediately.

So how do you tell?
